Client: National Inventors Hall of Fame
Role: Web design, front-end development, art direction
Overview:
The National Inventors Hall of Fame’s e-mails were not displaying properly for their recipients, especially those who used Microsoft Office. This was due to outdated practices such as using images in place of live buttons, poorly formatted HTML, and no conditional formatting for MS Office.
Upon discovering this issue, I spoke with leadership about taking on additional training so I could find a solution to the problem. Combining my experience designing assets for marketing e-mails and taking a course offered through Codecademy, I have successfully refactored all marketing e-mail templates to be compatible across all devices and platforms.
Results:
• Increased opens, click-through rates, and revenue compared to previous campaigns year over year.
• E-mails now function across all major platforms and devices
• Reduced the time needed in the e-mail development process by eliminating repeat formatting issues
from dated templates and increased ease of use.
